The Weekend

Today is Saturday. For most of the working world it is the weekend to relax and take it all in. Then comes Sunday for church if you go and then comes the dreaded Monday. For me though I know that Saturdays and Sundays mean buzy days at AutoZone. Those people who have the weekend off to work on the cars. When I was in School I looked forward to Saturdays because it meant cartoons and sometimes sleeping in. Most days it was playing outside. On the rare occasion I cleaned my bedroom or mom hired someone to do it. I remember a fishing trip that me and my dad took years ago when he was the custodian at Parkview. We went down to Camp Shiloh and spend the day there. We also worked at the BGNC once in awhile. It's amazing how when you get started on one memory how the rest flood back as well. Me and my dad have spend some bonding time but now that he is working two jobs sometimes it's hard to find time. But he does it because he is the provider of the household and he knows what needs to be done. My mom calls it the umbrella of protection that covers the family. One of these days when I start a family of my own I will have the wisdom and the voice of experience to help me in my travels.
Yesterday evening Uncle Jay invited us to his house for a BBQ. Most of the family went. It's always a treat to get together with your family. You share stories and humor just spills out all over.
I called Samantha this morning on my way to Village Inn to meet Rebekah and mom for breakfast. Sam gets jealous when I go because I eat pancakes and she loves pancakes. I here about it every month on Angel Food Distribution day. I think she knows how to remedy the situation but oh well. I just enjoy them with the strawberry syrup.
